Special Note from Artist:
The Dogwood is one of the first trees blooming in early Spring, even before the tree itself or other trees have gotten new foliage. On clear mornings just after dawn, the flowers with the lightest soft green, ivory-white colors and red-pink tips are floating on the branches like quite butterflies, touched by the first sun-beams.

In the painting I used many white, ivory and green rectangles with splashes of magenta to challenge myself not to do the typical heart-form of the flowers and to emphasize the abundance of flowers by space instead.

The sound of color and stillness on an early spring morning for me is magic. It is also the Spirit of the Tree, as I see it.
